Manufactured Sand
Manufactured sand (M-Sand) is a building aggregate made by crushing hard stones into small sand-sized angular shaped particles, then washing and precisely grading them. For building purposes, it is a preferable option to River Sand.
Why Manufactured Sand?
After water, sand is the world's second most consumed natural resource. Rapid urbanisation and population increase throughout the world have produced an insatiable demand for this finite natural resource. With urbanisation as a major driving force, the building sector has grown significantly in recent decades, resulting in an overuse of river sand in construction. The growing gap between societal demand for aggregates and natural sand shortage due to resource depletion and environmental concerns has prompted concrete makers to seek out an appropriate and sustainable replacement fine aggregate. Manufactured sand is a cost-effective and environmentally friendly alternative.
Manufactured Sand vs River Sand
Superior Strength : The compressive and flexural strength of M-Sand is greater. Natural sand particles are rounded as a result of weathering, whereas M Sand particles are angular and have a rougher surface roughness, allowing for better bonding with the mortar in concrete and increased strength qualities.
Better Workability : M-Sand has a greater Fineness Modulus than natural sand and crusher dust because it is graded with accuracy and consistency. Concrete and masonry work well as a result of this.
Lesser Cement Consumption : M-Sand is devoid of impurities like clay, dust, and silt, and has a denser particle packing than natural sand particles, which reduces gaps in aggregate and reduces the amount of cement used in concrete production.
Vastu Friendly : The construction material should be devoid of human or animal remains, according to Vastu Shastra. Because river sand contains human and animal bones that are difficult to separate, M sand is the solution for better health.
Readily Available : M-Sand may be manufactured close to building sites, lowering transportation costs and ensuring a regular supply of the desired quantity.
Eco-friendly : River sand mining has resulted in several environmental disasters, such as riverbed and bank erosion, and is harmful to the natural eco-system. Manufactured sand is an environmentally safe and long-lasting building material.
PICS INTERNATIONAL Solution for Manufactured Sand
Our manufactured sands washing systems efficiently deal with a number of issues for our customers including:
- Removal of minus 63 micron / 200 mesh particles with efficiency – generally 15 percent to 20% of the feed.
- Crusher dust is normally quite fine, ranging from 63 microns to 600 microns / 200 mesh to 30 mesh, thus no material should be wasted during processing.
- We have a number of attrition methods available for removing clay from your final washed sand product if there is clay present in the crusher dust.
Each plant is specifically developed to cope with the peculiarities of your material and your intended final product criteria due to the amount of variance in crusher dust from one circumstance to another. In order to establish the volume of economically viable product that can be recovered from your crusher dust, you'll need to do rigorous material analysis first.
Then we went to work on designing and building a crusher dust cleaning facility that will increase manufactured sand production while reducing waste from your rock crushing operations.
